A reflective workshop for people who are ready to hear themselves after having spent years taking care of responsibilities, meeting expectations, and becoming who others needed them to be.
Hosted By: Mehrnaz Bassiri
When: Thursday, October 22nd at 11:00 am PST.
Where: On Zoom Link to be sent prior to the date.
You spent decades working and building the life you have.
But now you are feeling lost, "Who am I at this stage of my life, what do I actually want?"
You know how to show up for others.
But when someone asks what you want, your mind goes blank.
You listened to your family and became responsible and practical.
But you feel a sense of loss, or a weird sense of failure, despite all your accomplishments.
You feel restless, stuck, exhausted. You want something to change.
But you don't know what or where to even start.
Come to the 60 minute virtual workshop, find out what's missing, and create a personal compass for the years ahead.
Learn what taught you to override your own wants and needs.
Learn to notice recurring signals.
Turn what you notice into a meaningful 30-day goal or self-discovery experiment that fits your life now.
Make one small promise, take action, and learn how to return without shame when fear or life gets in the way.
Imagine knowing who you are and what you want for your next chapter. You take it seriously. You take action toward manifesting it.
“I heard myself. I responded. I can trust myself to take the next step.”
That is how a relationship with yourself begins to change.
This is a reflective and practical workshop. Bring your curiosity, bring yourself.
Until I was 13, no adult outside my home had heard my voice. At home I spoke normally, but outside, anxiety shut my voice down. Years later, I learned that I had grown up with undiagnosed selective mutism.
Finding my voice took many years of small, uncomfortable actions. I didn't know who I was and what I was meant to do with my life because as a child I didn't get the chance to explore my curiosity and interests. So I listened to my parents about what kind of life I should strive for.
You probably already know that that decision didn't turn out well for me. Despite my achievements, I felt like I was dying from the inside. Over the last 20 years, I've been in the practice of listening to myslef. That process eventually took me to two TEDx stages. It also helped me leave a career in biotech that did not feel like mine, build an award-winning tutoring company, become a published writer and poet, and slowly learn who I was beneath the expectations I had absorbed.
Today, I explore how those who were conditioned to be quiet, agreeable, responsible, or invisible can find their voice, rebuild self-trust, and make choices without abandoning themselves. Visit my website

You have spent enough time listening to everyone else.
